Hello,
The problem with the currently bundled tango icons in 8×8 resolution is that they are all blurry, they seem to be only a straightforward scaling down of larger icons. The result is that they are totally illegible. So I redrew them almost completely in pixel art, using the original icons as model, or icons from other themes if the original ones can't be properly adapted. Is it possible to use them instead of the current version ?

The icons look nice..

few things I notice..

• The originals are bmp not png
• Some of your icons don't match the others from the tango theme
• They are taking a bigger chunk of the 8x8 area than the original icons which may or may not make a difference

I know the originals are bmp, but I couldn't upload the image here as bmp, so I had to convert it in png. I guess converting it back shouldn't be a problem.
Yes, some of the icons were very problematic with their original tango design because of the lack of pixels, so I chose to change the design to keep them legible. Do I have to change them back and try to keep them as close to the originals as possible (even if it's ugly) ?
The icons may indeed be slightly bigger, but I didn't experience display problems yet.

By the way, is there a high-res version of the icons ? So far I found only already sized down versions. It would help me to improve the result.

The other option is to change the different icons in all of them

I edited the icons using the full size as model. The only icon I left noticeably different from the original is the Rockbox icon, which would have otherwise been too ugly. I hope this version fits better.

Ok. There is also a file names tango_icons_viewers. Are they to be improved too ?
