Title: recording to iriver 340 from an external source
Post by: memphis on July 04, 2006, 07:04:18 PM
I may well be very stupid but the iriver instructions do not appear to explain this process very well at all. I cannot record from any source such as a cd player or from the computer. i think i need some very basic steps to guide me through it if someone would be kind enough and before i throw the device from the ninth floor. further to this when i record from the built in fm tuner the reocrding is extremely poor however when not recording the signal is crystal clear. i would appreciate some assistance. thanks carl

First of all, I assume you're using RockBox on your h340 ;)

press A-B to go to the menu, select Recording and then Recording Settings. Here you configure recording: Source selects between internal mic and external devices (attached mic or line-in). For now this is the most important so press stop to leave the settings screen.

Now select Recording Screen, you should see the peakmeters respond to the music you feed it through the line-in. Use up/down to select gain and left/right to adjust the gain.

For radio recording, first go to FM Radio and tune, then hit A-B and do as above. Selecting line-in will give you radio signal as input.

The headphones are used as antenna, so keep them plugged in!
