Title: iPod mini 2G with microSD card = 1/3 battery life of Apple firmware?
Post by: michaelconner on May 17, 2020, 03:25:46 PM
I've got an iPod mini 2nd generation that I've upgraded with an iFlash Solo adapter and a 256GB microSD card. I get 6h45m runtime with Rockbox (latest stable build) and just shy of 24 hours runtime with the Apple firmware playing the same album on repeat (120MB MP3 Lame V0). Any ideas? Longtime Rockbox user and I'm a little surprised. I know iFlash adapters have file transfer problems with Rockbox but haven't seen anything about power consumption being an issue.

I swapped out the iFlash+microSD with a regular CompactFlash card and got 21.5 hours runtime. Problem solved, I guess.
