On my Archos Jukebox 20, Vorbis won't play back and I got to the ogg file. What folder do i install the decoder where where is the decoder?
-
Archoses cannot play back any of the additional Rockbox formats. It's a hardware limitation. You're basically limited to MP3. In the future it's possible that they will be able to play back WAV files, but they cannot yet.

Just a clarification, Llorean means play back WAV files as part of the core. The Archoses can already play back WAV through the use of a viewer.

Then whats this (http://svn.rockbox.org/viewvc.cgi/trunk/apps/codecs/vorbis.c?view=log) Vorbis decoder doing in trunk? Can someone compile it for me?
-
That's for the software codec targets. Players with a much faster processor than the Archos, and no hardware for decoding music. They're much more flexible in terms of formats that can be played back.
-
For the official firmware, can't you replace the mp3 decoder /w a vorbis decoder?
-
The Archos devices Rockbox supports use a special chip to decode MP3. Their main processors are not fast enough to decode Vorbis.
Seriously, I'm not lying to you: Rockbox cannot play Vorbis on the supported Archos devices.
