Hello everyone, I have a Sansa Clip+ MP3 player with Rockbox installed on it.
Everything was going great until recently it appears to not have the ability to connect to the PC anymore. When I connect the USB to the player and then to the PC the images on the MP3 player will freeze and then nothing will be detected on the PC either. The MP3 player also began skipping and doing other odd problems.
I am trying to reformat the player so that I can use it again, but I have no idea how. Since I can't connect it to a PC I need to reformat it straight through the device.
Does anyone know if it is possible to reformat directly through the Rockbox player or what I can do to get my MP3 player working again?
Thank you.

"Error accessing playlist control file (-4)"
This is the message it gives me when trying to play a song.

You can try the bootloader usb mode (hold center while booting) or the Sandisk USB mode (hold left) if your rockbox install is too broken to mount in USB mode.
-
I have tried both of the methods you suggest but it will still not mount, is my MP3 player done for?
-
Have you tried a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button for 15/20 seconds?
-
Just tried that as well, no dice.

You could try booting up into the native firmware

When I do that it gets stuck on the loading screen showing what looks like a flower.
Still will not mount also.

I would also try a different PC.

you aren't going to want to hear this but I bet your flash has gone bad and once you format it it'll be done for good

Ah well, thanks for the help guys.

If you have access to a pc with linux or can download a live cd I think I might have a way to fix your player
