New Ports / Re: Fiio M3k
« Last post by Julian67 on Today at 12:04:45 PM »Thanks for the correct info. Would the bit truncation make much of a difference to those filter graphs? To me they all look as you'd expect for each filter type.

New Ports / Re: Fiio M3k
« Last post by speachy on Today at 07:05:02 AM »Rockbox resamples everything to 44100Hz. On some players you can toggle this to 48000Hz. So a comparison between Rockbox and original firmware might not be so useful if the audio file is 192000 Hz.
Actually, Rockbox will only resample if the hardware cannot handle the "native" sample rate for a given file. I know this because I'm the one who implemented it.
So on hardware that can go up to 192KHz, we can play back 192KHz files, albeit at 16-bit only since we don't have support for 24/32-bit audio in the core.
(That said, the choice of playback freq and any resampling is up to the invididual codecs, so it's certainly possible some or many of them have their own rules/heuristics)

No surprise there. All the filters look like they work as described. The battery life is good on Rockbox that the powersave mode is not needed on the M3K. I guess if I used my M3K only for audiobooks or lectures and other speech I might choose powersave mode, but for music the default (no powersave, sharp filter) appears to be ideal. But it is nice to see the graphs, and informative, so thank you.

You can easily swap actions using keyremap plugin. I attached file to use.
Open Plugins -> Applications -> keyremap
Select Import Text Keymap -> select attached SwapWpsDownActions.txt
Select Set Core Remap

Perhaps a careful read of the user manual for the car radio may offer a pointer in this direction?Have you checked the BT adaptor is set to transmitter mode?
Of course, it works with a BT headphone. It's just that cars now are phone oriented, and obviously simple BT transmitters do not provide all the handshake the car is waiting for.
(my own car has an older simple Bluetooth radio that predates modern ICE systems)

Rockbox Utility / Re: Unable to install Lockbox utility on iPod Classic 5g
« Last post by ctr1010 on May 31, 2023, 02:09:35 PM »I correct myself. Actually Rockbox installation on Windows works. I installed Rockbox on VM windows. So when connecting iPod, the iPod screen shows image of usb connector. I did not see the prompt screen behind another window that select connection to windows. The really issue is when connecting to Mac. All I get is Do not disconnect with red circle and a cross bar on iPod. I could not figure out what's seems to be the issue.

Other - Installation/Removal / [Solved] Surfans F20 "stock firmware image"
« Last post by Polarigel on May 31, 2023, 10:39:18 AM »I managed to install a hosted port on my Surfans F20 with the firmware version 2.7. Finding out how to do it took some time. Maybe posting this will help the next one with the same problem.
1. I couldn't find any stock software. Therefore I could not use the Rockbox utility to install Rockbox. It had to be a manual install.
2. For that I used
3. I connected the Surfans to my computer. It is recognized as a USB-storage unit.
4. I renamed the file F20-v27-patched.upt to update.upt and copied it into the root directory of the Surfans F20
5. I unzipped the Rockbox file. It contains a folder named .rockbox. I copied this folder (not its contents!) into the root directory of the Surfans F20
5. I ejected the Surfans F20 and booted it. I made a firmware update (System Settings - Firmware Update- "Please confirm whether the firmware is updated" -YES). Now Rockbox is installed.
6. After rebooting the F20 I got a boot menu with Rockbox, original firmware and tools. Rockbox booted without any problem, and could be used.
7. Now the Surfans F20 cooperates with the Rockbox Utility. It's possible to install new builds, themes and fonts.
8. For now there is no Rockbox Manual for the Surfans F20. I used the manual for AGPtek Rocker to understand the settings.

- the latest Rockbox development build for AIGO EROS Q/K (https://www.rockbox.org/daily.shtml)
- the prepatched image for my player and firmware version, downloaded from https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/AIGOErosQK (https://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/surfans/F20-v27-patched.upt)
