Title: IPOD 1G NANO can't connect
Post by: wyhlenout on October 16, 2010, 04:56:14 PM
Hello

Well here it goes. I installed rockbox on a ipod nano 1g. Worked fine. Now want to put new stuff onto it. It isn't reconized. Well it is.

1st thing. It says it could work better with a usb 2.0 but it is connected to a usb 2.0

2 thing. Rockbox utility when trying to use it says mount point does not exist.

I tried it on my other computer and it says about the 2.0 usb would work better again. And it is 2.0usb

Any help would be great. Thank you

Rockbox's USB mode is a little slower than that of the iPod's OF when it comes to file transfers. Try booting back into the OF (instructions are in the manual) and transferring your files using the full USB 2.0 speed it offers.

The error message about "this device would perform faster if connected to a USB 2.0 port" indicates that it's been enumerated wrong and it's not running at USB 2.0 speeds at all (or really is plugged into a USB1.1 port/hub); this is nothing to do with the fact that Rockbox's actual file transfer speed is slower.

I suspect the device isn't installed properly in Windows; try uninstalling it from device manager then disconnect and reconnect it, or just try a different port.

Thanks, torne. Much better explanation that I could've given. :)
