Title: Alarm function in iPod 5G
Post by: IcyStorM on October 30, 2007, 06:26:57 PM
Hello Rockbox folks!
I've been using Rockbox for quite a long time (Over a year) now and the last time I've thought a lot about the Alarm function built in Rockbox.
I can't get it working! After choosing a time to wake up it just never begins playing at that time. If I try a close time it says like waking up in 2 minutes but all it does is change to now playing screen.

How come and what do I need to do in order to be able to use the alarm?
I have been searching but I have not yet found the answer so I'd be very happy for your help

Thanks in advance!

Could you please try to explain more clearly?

1) What are you expecting to happen

2) What exactly do you choose, and what happens?

It sounds like you're setting an alarm for 2 minutes from now, then the music starts playing in 2 minutes, which is to be expected...

Then you misunderstood..
I set it to play in 2 minutes but it doesn't play, it just opens the "now playing screen" but never begins playing.

Was playback stopped or merely paused before?

AFAIU you need to power down the device for the alarm wakeup to work.

I'm fairly certain it should resume playback if the device is already powered up (though not 100%) but I think if playback is paused rather than stopped, it'll work like pressing the play button in filetree (go to WPS, but not resume).
