Title: jukebox recorder 20 - recording errors
Post by: pjmoney on December 04, 2004, 02:04:50 PM
I am having problems with my recording having errors, it sounds like it skips during playback, usually after about the 1st 20-30 minutes of recording. Almost seems like the processor can't keep up, but i'm not sure... can anyone help or shed some light on this for me.

TIA

Which version of Rockbox?
Which jukebox model?
Which recording source?
Recording settings?
Hard drive status (empty, full, scandisk results)?

Rockbox Ver. - 2.3
Jukebox Model - Recorder 20
Recoding source - Line In
Recording Settings - 44k -
Quaility - 7
HardDrive - Empty (Recording is the first things that I have tried to do)

The recordings made by Rockbox are VBR, and the files have a VBR header with information about the average bit rate. This header is not entirely correct on longer files, so you need to manually update it:

Select the file in the browser and hold Play. This pops up a menu, where you select "open with". Select "vbrfix" to update the VBR header.

This should fix the skipping.
