Title: Manual Installation onto Nano 1st Gen, 4GB
Post by: barrack on January 23, 2008, 03:34:55 PM
I'm hoping that this is a simple one. I'm trying to a manual install onto my nano.

I'm at the stage where I need to unzip rockbox.zip into the root of the ipod folder.

I tried it and this is what I got:

Code: [Select]
You don't have the right permissions to extract archives in the folder "/media/))<>(("
I'm so close! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what type of extractor do you use?.. you can use winzip or 7zip that should work..  once you have extracted the .rockbox folder into the root of your ipod, run the ipodpatcher and your good to go! ;)

@killer : I doubt very much if he can use winzip - that path isn't a windows one.

@barrack : Which OS are you using, and what program are you using to do the extraction?
