Hello, I love bookmarking. And it was one feature I wished my old G3 had. But with rockbox, I was so exited to find out the rockbox had bookmarking. The only thing is that it can't do it the way I want. From what it seems like, rockbox will either always create a bookmark, it will ask you whether you want a bookmark, or will not create a bookmark. I also have the same choices for loading a bookmark. I would choose always create and load a bookmark, except that I only want a few of my files (audiobooks and podcasts) to get bookmarked, not my music. I would choose ask, but that got really anoying, very fast. What I would like is a button, say, after holding down the select button for a few seconds, when the menu to do things like delete the file, put an option to create a bookmark in the song. That way, I could bookmark the songs I want, and not be pestered for a bookmark if I don't want it.
Thank you

Have you actually looked in that menu? At least, mine has an option "Bookmarks" and in that "Create Bookmark", basically what you're asking for...

Thank you, I looked at the list, but I thought that bookmarks would just take me to the list of bookmarks. That was exactly what I was looking for.
Thank You.

which brings up a decent point... why the heck is the create bookmark option in a submenu? IIRC there is never more than just that one item?

No, there's "View Bookmarks" there too. Shows all the bookmarks in the bookmark file for what you're playing (folder/playlist).

ah ok, fair enough
