hey.
this is getting realy annoying :-\
i wanted to unistall rockbox frommy ipod. so i hocked on to my PC and let itunes restore it.
after restoring the ipod wants to restart, but its not going into ipodbootloader but into the rockboxbootloader saying
rockboxbootloader v 1.0
batterie ok
loading rockbox...
error!
cant load rockbox file not found
entering usb mode...
bootloadr usb mode
thats it.
i tried using the rockboxutility to delete the rockboxbootloader but it say "cant find bootloader
hey mods, hey developers, please what is that, i realy need help with your rockbox, its killing my ipod
please

okay, somehow the restoration have worked so far that i could enter the ipodfirmware and got it running. even when restarting it goes back into ipodfirmware...
still, the bootloader is still on my ipod. where is it, how to get rid of it. i want to sell the ipod now and cant give it to someone without being sure that he7she will not end up staring at an ipod which says
rockboxbootloader v 1.0
batterie ok
loading rockbox...
error!
cant load rockbox file not found
entering usb mode...
bootloadr usb mode
instead of entering ipod firmware...
HOW PLEASE?

no developer or moderator got any idea? why is that?!
is it such a spezial problem so than noone can give me any answer? hard to belive
getting realy frustrated here

I can't follow what you are saying the problem is.
Why do you think the bootloader is still on the ipod?
I would have suggested putting it into recovery mode (see Apple's website if you don't know how to do that, its an Apple thing not a rockbox thing) and then restoring it. But sounds as if you have done that successfully. So what is the problem now?
In putting rockbox on dozens of ipods (I got a bit obsessed with ipod tinkering) I did have one or two that had problems either putting it on or removing it, but I think both those had hardware problems, that somehow prevented them from getting into recovery mode (possibly the clickwheel?). Generally its quite straightforward in either direction, at least with Windows and iTunes.

hey.
yeah, i am kind of getting to the same conclusion myself..
maybe that
rockboxbootloader v 1.0
batterie ok
loading rockbox...
error!
cant load rockbox file not found
entering usb mode...
bootloadr usb mode
thing was just a shodow of the IPODs ram, and after a restart its gone for good now... i hope so
also i cant get into any rockbox state with my ipod anymore, so yeah, i guess rockbox is gone now.
so bad that there is no real stable rockbox for the ipod classic 6g. its a decent device .(
gona get an ibasso instead
thanks for answering
best, c.

I haven't read through all the replies, but I seem to remember you had access to a PC, although you were trying things out on a Mac, initially.
I succeeded in restoring an iPod Classic 6g that just WOULDN'T stop rebooting into Rockbox, following the instructions here:
