New Ports / Re: AIGO EROS Q / AIGO EROS K / IRULU Surfans F20 / AGPTek H3 / HIFI WALKER H2
« Last post by speakn2pabst on Today at 06:20:43 PM »I did indeed get the negative value from using a DC setting.
I've tried again this time double checking I'm in AC mode with the multimeter and it gives me a 1.11 reading while contacting the left and right channel ends of an aux/headphone cable plugged to the Line Out with the audacity provided 100 Hz WAV playing.
I plugged this into a formula I found online (hopefully correct)
20 x log 10(1.11/1) = dBV = 22.2
Hoping this is the desired reading.

Yes, the card works fine when I boot into the original SanDisk OS; it detects all the music. The card also works fine when plugged into a computer. It's just that for some reason, Rockbox does not detect the card.
How do you deduce that the card working means there's a partition table? External drives can be formatted without one (sometimes called "superfloppy"), but this isn't supported by all systems / devices. Can't remember if Rockbox needed a partition table, but if the card doesn't have one that would be the first thing to look for.
So, again: does the card have a partition table?

« Last post by nunnananya on January 27, 2023, 11:48:16 PM »Never mind, I got it sorted. I used the installer, but I had to uncheck fonts in order for it not to crash halfway through, for some reason. I'm going to see about getting the fonts installed manually. Maybe some themes as well.

« Last post by nunnananya on January 27, 2023, 11:20:58 PM »That worked, but now there's a new issue. I used the update firmware option, and now when I boot it takes me to the option to start rockbox, but selecting that option gives the output "unable to boot rockbox".

Likely, doing a low level format and marking bad sectors might bring it back (might only be for a bit though till more blocks fail)
for windows
http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-Level-Format-Tool/
then use a 3rd party formatter http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
then probably chkdsk /r (if it works on removable drives no clue..)
for linux
dd 0 to the drive
https://www.looklinux.com/how-to-wipe-hard-drive-clean-using-dd-command-in-linux/
gparted should work to reformat
run badblocks (might try running this first)
https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/badblocks-command-in-linux-with-examples/
I don't think the card is corrupted because it works fine when I boot into the original SanDisk OS, or when I plug it into my computer. It's just that for some reason, only Rockbox does not detect the card.
