Theming and Appearance Customization / Re: Error Uploading Theme
« Last post by chrisbagnell on December 10, 2023, 12:14:48 AM »As far as I'm aware, the issue here is the %T tags. They are tags that only work on touchscreen devices, since they require touch to perform the set action. The theme uploader is quite strict, so even if it runs on device and is entirely "legal" in a sense, it will reject the theme.
For now I'd say try removing these tags and see what happens. It is a little bit strange that it can't open BatteryStatus.bmp, If you have any further issues, consider uploading the code to github or an equiavaent and I'll take a look over it.
Thank you, I have been burnt out from trying to figure out the error and it was BatteryStatus. the file name is "batteryStatus" and the wps file was the only one with an incorrect file name. Cheers!

Repairing and Upgrading Rockbox Capable Players / Re: Best/Simplest Uprgrades for iRiver IHP-140
« Last post by Jeff on December 09, 2023, 10:59:57 AM »Generally speaking a have had a few issues with some adapters that I recently ruled out with less cheap adapter options (just what you asked for).
This is where I'm stuck - I'm not sure which adapters to trust. Some older posts on here used a uSD to 1.8" IDE adapter, but it seems like no one makes this anymore. I have been looking at uSD to 2.5" IDE adapters on AlieExpress but it's not always clear what exact chipset is being used. It seems like the only cheap SD to IDE options use either the FC1306, FC1307 or FC1309 chipsets. From what I can tell the FC1307 or FC1306 are only designed for up to 128GB, although I have heard of people running higher than that. I've read that people have had trouble with the iFlash adapters, not to mention they're quite a bit more expensive.
A couple of threads dealing with this at misticriver. We're trying to resurrect some of the old info. Admin/Mods, if i'm out of line posting the links, please let me know.

« Last post by Frankenpod on December 09, 2023, 09:26:37 AM »Thanks very much.
Can't say I understand the technicalities of it all (how did it work previously, if the parameters being an array is something the theme engine can't handle? Did it just work entirely by accident before?).
Will try modifying some themes to the new syntax - but does this mean I'll need to compile a patched version of RB first?
[Edit] I really struggle to do that - I did have a working development environment running at one point, but then my unix machine had a lot of hardware problems, and when I finally got it working again and tried again I could never again manage to get RB to build successfully, there always seemed to be some glitch or other.

Repairing and Upgrading Rockbox Capable Players / Re: Repairing Sansa Clip+
« Last post by Equilibrium on December 09, 2023, 08:42:18 AM »A quick update.
Have kept looking online evry two weeks or so for the diode i require to fix the Sansa Clip+
Whilst i have found them from the main suppliers, Farnell, Digikey, RS Components, Mouser, ect; the delivery charges are extortionate, ranging from a minimum of £11.94 delivery + £0.31p per diode.
Ebay and Amazon, are also expensive £5.95 per diode.
Aliexpress has them listed cheaper, however; i don't trust that i would receive the correct value or type of diode, given some of the reviews and feedback i have seen and read, wouldn`t be an issue if i had a decent LCR meter, but i dont.
For the record the missing diode package type fitted is as identified by Vitt13 a SOD523 package type, also known i believe by the package type monikers 0603 /- SC79 /- 923 & 0402
Similar diode package sizes to the SOD523 size are SOD323 /- 0805 & SOD923 which can be used as an alternative.
Specifications required thanks to, and as mentioned in the posts by other forum members.
SOD523 /- SOD323 /- SOD923 Zener Diode Type ~ Power Rectifier
3.6V FV ~ Forward Voltage
500mW PD ~ Power Delivery
Chances are i will bite the bullet & buy a few despite the price, then as mentione in previous posts will sort out the battery replacement / upgrade guide as mentioned.

« Last post by speachy on December 08, 2023, 08:59:44 PM »I don't suppose anyone is motivated to modify RB code so as to allow these themes to work again?
I'm not personally in favor of bringing the old settings back; instead the theme engine should be fixed and the theme altered as needed.
The fundamental issue here is that the EQ settings are a triplet, and that the skin engine doesn't know how to handle this.
I just hacked something together that _should_ do the trick, but it may be the wrong approach (and I don't know if it's possible to do this in a backwards-compatible manner) To use it the theme will need to be tweaked. See:
https://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/c/rockbox/+/5532
Be warned: I can promise that it compiles, but that's the extent of the testing it's received.
