Title: Bug in image viewer?
Post by: iPodFoo on August 25, 2006, 07:46:15 PM
Hi.

When I view jpgs on my Nano, it seems to be slightly zoomed in and not quite resized properly at the top an bottom. When the image is fullscreen, it pans up and down slightly.

Is it a resizing bug?

Cheers.

The images are never zoomed to fit the screen unless you've manually resized the file. JPEGs in Rockbox can be shown at 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 sizes, if I recall.

Thought it would have made more sense to have it size to the screen at the correct ratio rather than starting off really small as youre going to have to zoom in anyway.

Ah well. Cheers for letting me know.

The ratios are actually part of the JPEG format. The scaling levels are predetermined, and much less work than arbitrary scaling, if my understanding is correct.
