Title: Rockbox with huge amounts of files
Post by: goldswimmerb on September 07, 2021, 12:45:06 PM
Hey, so I've got an iPod 7th Generation with rockbox, as well as 2TB of storage through an Iflash quad, something repeatedly noticed is that it wants to build the database on every boot, even with the "auto build" option disabled, another thing is how long it takes to build the database, which can be hours (though it is roughly 200,000 mp3 files), the occasional kernel panic and occasionally boot loops/getting stuck at step 1/9 on the commit process. Having a hard time figuring out what could be up here, is it settings issues? AMD I just dumb?

iFlash adapters don't work reliably with builds before this year, so if you're on 3.15 update to the development build.

I'm still using 3.15 on a similar iPod. I copy files using the original firmware and then manually delete the database files. I find it is much quicker building the database from nothing than updating an existing one. I should update to a current build, though.
