Title: Playlist all on iRiver H140
Post by: musicmonkey1 on February 18, 2019, 02:43:22 PM
My apologies if this has been raised before but a search of the forums has not produced a solution. I used to be able to create a playlist of all my tracks on my H140 but since upgrading to the latest stable build I've been unable to. I've started to resorting to a third party program to do this and this seems ridiculous.

So at the moment a short press of the playlist catalogue takes me to the play list directory (which is empty). A long press of the playlist catalogue takes me to a list create playlist, view current playlist, save current playlist and reset playlist catalogue direct.

Under the old build pressing create playlist would have created a playlist of all my tracks in the root directory. However on pressing create playlist in the current build I'm presented with the rockbox text editor and underneath  that is //Playlists.m3u8  I've been completely unable to find a way of saving this (I'm not even sure if it can or should be saved) Either way it's not very useful compared to the previous way in which a playlist all was created. Any help from anyone on this forum would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I tried in a freshly built sim and I see a difference in behavior when it is first run versus after I have started playback.

After a fresh boot, doing as you describe takes me to the virtual keyboard to set the path of the playlist.  Here that path is //Playlists.m3u8.  This seems to fail as you describe.

After starting playback and either pausing or stopping, I "Create Playlist" and now the path is //Playlists/all.m3u8.  This way it works.

This sounds like this old bug:
