Title: Shortcuts menu and playback speed
Post by: pabouk on April 03, 2012, 03:20:25 PM
The new shortcuts menu is extremely useful. Thank you for implementing it. :)

Could you please confirm that it is not currently possible to set the playback speed and pitch from shortcuts?
If not it would be great to implement setting of those to predefined values (like playback speed 150 %) too.

Also as I understand it the type "browse" does not allow opening a directory. When I use a directory name it only sets the cursor to the directory. I have tried to use the type "file" with the directory name but it does not do anything. It would be great to make possible opening the specified directory and ideally also set the cursor in the directory content listing according to one of these options:
- first file
- last file
- first directory
- last directory

The manual should say how to open up inside a directory.. simply append / to the path (so "/foo/bar/" to be inside /foo/bar instead of having bar selected).

No, you cant set pitch/speed to shortcuts, though I would guess that is a simple addition (well, they really should be proper settings which always reset to 100% on boot).

and no to selecting anything but the first item in a directory (though you can select specific ones if you know the filename anyway)

Thank you for the tip with the slash after the directory name. It works.
I do not see the trick in the manual:

I also discovered a minor bug. When I used the "file" type and specified a directory with the trailing slash after opening the shortcut I received "Undefined instruction" message and after pressing any button Rockbox rebooted.

I agree that playback pitch/speed should be a proper setting.
