Title: Boot loader problem
Post by: justin on April 21, 2007, 09:58:09 PM
Hi,

I followed the instructions at:
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GigabeatFXPort#Installation_Instructions

And now get the following error when I turn on my gigabeat F40:

Rockbox boot loader
Version r13224:13225-070421
Loading firmware
Length: 6D348
Checksum: 0
Model name:
Sum: 2BE7B69
Bad checksum

Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Thanks,

Justin

1) You should follow the instructions in the manual.
2) Which build did you download?

Hi,

1) You should follow the instructions in the manual.
Is this not the manual?:
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GigabeatFXPort#Installation_Instructions

I followed this step by step.

2) Which build did you download?
I downloaded the most recent build (2007-04-21 Rockbox for Toshiba Gigabeat F, 1810 KB)

I downloaded the files linked in the installation instructions:
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/viewfile/Main/GigabeatFXPort?rev=4;filename=FWIMG01.DAT
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/RockboxExtras
http://www.rockbox.org/dl.cgi?bin=gigabeatf
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/viewfile/Main/GigabeatFXPort?rev=1;filename=bootsplash.zip

Thanks,

Justin

Firstly, the Manual is what's at the other end of the "Manual" link on the left side of this, and every, page.

Secondly, that's the Daily build that you've linked to. As in, made once per day. It is not the current build. It is as much as 24 hours out of date. That is not the most recent build.

Please use the "Current Build" link, also on the left side of every page.
