Title: ROCKBOX CF ADAPTER CAUSING ERRORS (Help!)
Post by: 10eo on July 29, 2018, 05:22:28 PM
Hello everyone!
As you may have read, I am having troubles with Rockbox on my newly hard-driveless iPod. It's currently using a FC-1307 SD to CF adapter with a 64 gb SD card.
I've came across errors such as, "Could not write sector 206107.', or it crashing in the middle of playing a song and the title and author replaced with root. It can even freeze or crash when trying to change a song by going to the database. Sometimes even trying to load the database freezes Rockbox.
Will this adapter help?

I'm going to attempt to try 2 things: reformat and start fresh. Maybe then trying doing a disk defragment (usually not needed for flash) to see if it does anything. Will it help at all?

This summer, my cousin and I got to visit my uncle and aunt for a week. I asked him about getting the battery and flash adapter for the iPod and he got it as an early B-Day gift. When they arrived a few days later, we tried to install them in the iPod. We got the battery in, but we needed an adapter for iPod to CF adapter. I wasn't going to be able to have the part installed and take it home.
He got my music off my Google Drive, iTunes and Rockbox installed on it. Rockbox couldn't load the database and froze at "Building Database. 0 found." I told him to send it back like that and I'll figure it out. When it came back from the mail, the iPod flipped back and fourth from iTunes to Rockbox when I was charging it. https://youtu.be/D0-76FgSEjw
My uncle couldn't install all of the music off of my G. Drive and he forgot some. So, I decided that I would re-format the SD card (inside the iPod) and install only Rockbox on it. Yesterday, I couldn't access the Rockbox download page so I decided to install Rockbox Utility-v1.4.0.
Rockbox Utility-v1.4.0 couldn't recognize the iPod, so I decided to install iTunes on the iPod to identify it, without any songs installed on that side. It installed Rockbox on the iPod. I also installed some themes through it, but Rockbox can't see them.
I started to add files by downloading and zipping the files directly from Google Drive to the SD card while in the iPod. Then, the Latitude e6400 slept because I didn't do anything on it. Why didn't I touch it, I was doing chores. When I came back the computer wouldn't see it, again. I just left it be for a while, when I was busy re-organizing my computer's music files to the liking of my G. Drive. Then I plugged the iPod back in and copied the music over from my computer into the iPod.
I tried to listen to some music by setting up the database, but then it started to mess up. It froze. I did this multiple times and the errors I was talking about above this comment started to happen. So that's my story. Please, someone help me.

If the problem is the adapter, how am I going to convince my parents to buy the new part?!??!?
