Title: Bricked(?) After Installation - Sansa e250R
Post by: Aygtets on January 20, 2009, 08:53:39 PM
I have an e250R 2 gig player. I followed the E200R instructions in their entirety, and everything worked out perfectly till the player updated the firmware and restarted. Now the player won't get past the boot up screen, and my PC won't recognize it. Please help!

I assumed this would be a common problem, but I can't find anywhere that this was explained or corrected. But if there is a thread out there, please direct me toward it and I apologize for wasting your time.

Thanks in advance!

Check the SansaFAQ page.

Okay, I tried to "unbrick" the player, but apparently I'm one of the unlucky few that those steps didn't work for. I got a -
"Load main image failed
Switch to Recovery Mode" -
screen after the Sansa logo after each step. I did follow the instructions exactly. I can still go into recovery mode, just none of those steps are working.
I checked some old threads, but they were VERY old, and I don't believe I'm having exactly the same issues.

Any ideas?

I'm aware of this special case: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=18197.0

I don't know if this matches your situation or not.

ah yes, that matches my situation. It seems to be a problem only Linux can fix for now though. That's a shame. I'll try and see if I can get ubuntu running, and go from there.

Thank you for your help!

You can always use a LiveCD if necessary.
