Audio Playback, Database and Playlists / Re: Database/tagnavi : Only show track title while ordering based on track number ?
« Last post by eriolloan on Today at 09:11:41 AM »Ok... this is getting weirder : The format is not the problem.
I downloaded a mp3 album to test more thoroughly. (I had previously used mp3 albums where I had only one track, most of my full albums being flac.)
Albums with more than a few tracks will radomly freeze the device, but not consistently after reboot.. some will some won't...
So it might not be related to a specific number of tracks. With further testing I ruled out track with 2 digits, 10 tracks or more as a cause, and the last track being present as possible causes.
I tried with numerous albums by various artists so you can propably reproduce with your own collection.
Might be worth mentioning that I'm focusing on the crashes but the tracks are still ordered alphabetically XD

« Last post by Bilgus on Today at 07:51:02 AM »plugins/apps/db_commit
its basically a verbose version of the commit code that will hopefully say why its crashing
if not try to get a single track that does it or if you must a whole album so I can try and repro it

I reinstalled rockbox (ae01ea7fd9-240223) at some point and added only one album in each format... same behaviour.
Each time I modified tagnavi or added a playlist, I used both "Update Now" and "Initialize now" in the contextual menu of the DB section (Is this what rou're refering to as the plugin or is there something I missed browsing Plugins/Applications ?)

Repairing and Upgrading Rockbox Capable Players / Sansa Fuze V2 dead after a few minutes of listening from MicroSD
« Last post by cdubbleyoo on Today at 03:41:58 AM »Greetings all.
I am a returning user of Rockbox (got a Sansa e200 from woot...'Boxed it...then got a bunch of Fuzes, 'Boxed 'em and eBay'ed 'em).
I recently got the itch for physical buttons and found a "new-open-box" 4gb v2 on ye olde eBay.
I kept it about a day before putting 3.15 on it.
I just a Sandisk ImageMate 256GB card to put in it. I used Gparted (Linuz Lite) to format that to FAT32. I put about 45GB of songs on the card, put it into the Sansa and started listening while it updated the database in the bg.
After about 5 songs I scrolled to a song and added it to the playlist. When it got to that song there was a white error screen - I forget what specifically it said, and the play shut down. I restarted and went back to the son to play it. It played a few seconds and crashed again.
This time, I was not able to get it to restart.
I plugged the Sansa into a USB (nothing)
I plugged into a PC (nothing)
I have held the on switch for various lengths of time including 60 seconds (nothing)
I tried taking the card out (nothing)
I tried holding Back and the on button...along with trying the same with all of the other buttons (nothing)
I have never had a Sansa I wasn't able to get running after a crash. Has anyone else experienced something like this or have any ideas to bring the device back? Fortunately, the seller accepts returns, but I would like to get this unit going again.
TIA,
cw

(assuming you are using a recent dev version)

Rockbox Utility / Re: iPod Newbie - Install query
« Last post by Frankenpod on March 18, 2024, 09:46:47 PM »Be aware a 6g 80GB is limited to 128GB using the original firmware. And even if you install rockbox that could end up becoming a problem if you install any larger capacity storage.
Also, I thought the official installer gave you the option of picking the last "point release" or the latest dev version?

Rockbox Utility / iPod Newbie - Install query
« Last post by Dark2024 on March 18, 2024, 08:47:19 PM »Hello Folks,
I hope this is the right formn to post this query
I used to use Rockbox on a Sanza Clip Disk many years ago, and having recently come into possesion of an old 6G iPod Classic (80g), thought I would give RB a spin again.
I am thinking of getting the iPod updated (i.e. SSD/card fitted, new battery etc.) and have read a few posts on the forum about installing RB on these updated iPods
Some posts suggest you need to manually install a dev build due to some SSD issues, other posts seem to suggest that the problems are solved.
So my question is, can the existing installer be used (i.e. to install 3.15) or do I follow the manual install process (to install a dev build), as decribed in the following links?
https://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-ipod6g/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-110002.2.2 - 2.2.2 Manual Installation
https://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,54105.msg249838.html#msg249838 - Ultimate iFlash guide for iPod Classic
Thanks in advance!
