Title: Missing files
Post by: wingtraveler on July 10, 2006, 09:55:29 PM
When I look at one of the folders on my Archos 20 on the computer it shows over 1000 files but when I scroll down the files on the screen of the player many of the files do not appear.  And of course, they do not play either.  I have looked at the properties of the files that do play and cannot see any difference when compared to the files that do not play or appear.  Any ideas?
Gary

Have you changed the max files in folder option and then restarted your player?

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!  I did not know there was a limit to the number of files.  I located the settings and it was set at 400.  Changed it to 1100 and all the files appeared.
Thanks,
Gary

The player has to reserve memory for the lists. This memory doesn't get used for buffering music (because it needs to be free if you want to browse a list while music is playing, for example) so you want to keep the number as low as possible (more space for buffered music) while above your biggest directory's size. It may be a good idea to split your folder into multiple ones.
