Rockbox General Discussion / Wanted: Sansa Fuze
« Last post by meyertime on April 27, 2023, 08:33:31 PM »Anyone willing to part with their Sansa Fuze? I may be willing to pay good money for it!
But I'm looking for a specific hardware variant: It has to have the RDA5802 FM chip. From what I understand, only some v2 Fuzes have this chip instead of the SI4700 series. You can check quickly using Rockbox:
1. In Rockbox, go to "System" -> "Debug (Keep Out!)" -> "FM Radio"
2. After "HW detected: yes" it will say "SI4700 regs:" or "RDA5802 regs:"
If you have one, reply here or send me a direct message. I also have 2 Fuzes in fair shape that I would be willing to trade in addition to cash. One black v1 and one blue v2, but they both have the SI4700 FM chip.

Hardware / Re: New cheap portable player in the market
« Last post by speachy on April 27, 2023, 06:34:22 PM »would the RKNanoD SoC be viable? - https://www.rock-chips.com/a/en/products/RK_Nano_Series/2016/0908/790.html
The RKNano-D has a total of 1MB of RAM, with no provision for external memory.
Additionally, this memory is actually split between the two processor cores. While the datasheet implies they can access each others' memories, it's not clear if they share a common mapping.
Regardless, 1MB of RAM just isn't going to cut it, at least not without a significant culling of our functionality, including moving back to exclusively codecs that the hardware can decode.
So, no, this isn't really viable for what folks think of as "rockbox".

New Ports / Re: AIGO EROS Q / AIGO EROS K / IRULU Surfans F20 / AGPTek H3 / HIFI WALKER H2
« Last post by mrsubway on April 27, 2023, 01:55:14 PM »The only issue I'm having is the USB connection to the PC is SLOW, so much so that I have to use OF to transfer files.
That's probably because the OF supports UASP, I believe. Rockbox doesn't have that capability unfortunately. I believe there's a patch to add support, but it's very much a work in progress.QuoteI feel like an idiot.
We've all been there. Glad you got it working in the end though!
Meh. Just boot to OF for now. I like the native better though. Less buggy than the hosted.

Just got a Surfans 20 and am about to start fiddling about with it.
Questions:
- do both the hosted and native ports boot to a screen that you then have to choose rockbox or default? I want to set it up so it boots straight into rockbox.
- Voicebox etc all works with both ports?
- If I try the hosted port first, would I just go through the usual native port installation process if I wanted to change, or is it more complex once I've installed the hosted port?
Thanks in advance

It remembers the last selection and defaults to that on the next boot.

It is pretty unusual by today's standards, that's for sure.
What I think happened is that its manufacturer
