Title: Sony nw-a608
Post by: naething on April 08, 2007, 01:55:12 PM
Hello, I have a Sony nw-a608 and I'm tired of its stupidity, so it would be nice if I could work on alternative firmware for it.

But does anybody know what kind of CPU it contains?

Excuse me if it's not appropriate place to ask such question.

Generally speaking, the new ports area is for contributing new information toward creating a new port.

.. wich means you have to open up your player and look yourself. There's an article somewhere in the wiki that lists what you have to do in order to port rockbox to your device. I guess it won't be easy, and you'd have to do most of the work yourself.

gnu, of course I understand this. But that is what community is for. I just wondered if anybody already has experience with this device, just not to waste my time reinventing the wheel.

Excuse me if I incorrectly raised the question, maybe it's misunderstanding coming from my limited knowledge of English.

Typically, if theres anything known about a player, they'll be a thread in this forum and a wiki entry for it with info concentrated from the thread.  If  you don't see anything from the search, then theres probably nothing done about the player.

Maybe there is a forum for Sony NW-A608 users where you can ask for help with a port? Most people here probably only have rockbox supported players.
