Title: NEXBlack
Post by: synonymous on March 19, 2007, 08:54:32 PM
Howdy folks,

I asked tech support at frontier labs, the ones who make the NEXBlack player, and asked some questions about it. They had never heard of Rockbox supposedly. Maybe some here can help me point them in the correct direction. Anyway, they asked for me to help them with links or whatever to help them give it a shot. I have never installed or used Rockbox anywhere, but found myself interested in the design of this particular unit with the exception of its firmware which seems to lack gapless playback and .ogg . Someone please go ahead and email these people the correct information that they need.

Here is my conversation..

Dear Sir,

Can you send us some information about the Rockbox so we can see if it will
run on the NEXBlack?

Thank you.

So tell them to go to http://www.rockbox.org/ and download the source, the manual, read the wiki and whatever they feel like to get a feel for Rockbox.

It won't run on NEXBlack until they make the necessary modifications to Rockbox. Or perhaps they could tell us about the HW they use and hand us data sheets and then maybe some volunteering NEXBlack owners could add the support.
