Title: Sound Help

Hi,
I'm new here and I just installed Rockbox onto my 5.5g 30gb black iPod.

The instillation went fine.
The only problem i came across is that my iPod will not play music through the spears.

Any suggestions?
My earphones work fine, by the way. I tested them on my brother's iPod.

Also, if someone could possibly tell me where to put patch files once i've downloaded them?

If you mean speakers, ad they are connected through the dock port this is quite normal, Rockbox' support for ipod accessories is very limited.

You do not install patches, you apply them to the source and then you build your own rockbox version, to do this you need a development environment. A guide how to set this up is found on the SimpleGuideToCompiling page in the rockbox wiki
