Post by: billy_brown on September 07, 2006, 04:08:48 PM
hello. i'm trying patch the firmware for my h10, using the firmware patcher listed in the iriver installation instructions, but it won't recognise the firmware i want to patch. is this fwpatcher solely for h1xx models, or am i doing something wrong? new to this, first post etc, be gentle with me!

fwpatcher.exe is for the H100 and H300, which is why the H10 isn't mentioned or listed on the page.

For install and bootloader info for the H10 port, see this:

okay, i've tried the ums trick many times, it doesn't work, which can only mean i have a ums h10 i guess? so i've placed the correct .mi4 file and the rockbox file and folder on my h10, next to the media/service/recordings folders. i can't seem to find a system folder? if i'm doing something wrong please slap me...

The manual (link on the left of this page) now has up to date installation instructions for Rockbox on the H10. I recommend referring to this when trying to install Rockbox. If you see a Media folder, then it is likely that you have a MTP model and will have to get UMS mode working. Follow the instructions for this in the manual and you should be able to get it to work.
Also, note that since the System folder is set to be hidden, it is possible that it will not show up on your computer unless you enable showing of hidden files and folders (on windows, click toold->folder options and it's somewhere there)
