Title: Sansa Fuze+ stable build availability
Post by: BorniPL on September 04, 2014, 04:17:47 PM
Is there any possibility that there will be released RockBox stable port for SanDisk Sansa Fuze+ ? I just purchased one and got to know that there is such a thing as RockBox, so it would be great to test it ;)

We'll probably mark the fuze+ stable whenever we get around to doing another release.

You don't need to wait for us to do another release to do that.

@OP: for what it's worth, even the unstable Fuze+ is a marked improvement over the OEM firmware.  And the only build I've used personally was rather buggy.

Now I have to search out info on whether the more annoying bugs have been fixed...

Edited to add: I'd be surprised if they're really OK with releasing it as "stable" when bugs like FS#12594 have yet to be fixed, seemingly...

I use Fuze+ just with RB for last 3 years. Even 3 years ago it was a great improvement comparing to OF (which is a real bad dream if one has more than few songs loaded).

I am not aware of any real issue with RB since new bootloader was introduced. I am aware of two small things concerning the charging. One has to avoid totaly discharging the battery. Then only charging using OF works for me. And if I chargé Fuze+ too long, it stops charging and because of that it starts to discharge. So, it is good to remove it from USB charger as soon as it is charged.

I consider RB on Fuze+ stable and fully usable.
