Title: Archos Jukebox 6000 under Windows 10
Post by: Joergen on March 14, 2021, 05:14:47 AM
Hi,

I found a still working Archos Jukebox 6000 at home with Rockbox software on it.
How can I get access to the Jukebox under Windows 10? I canĀ“t find a working USB driver. Most pages I found refer to viruses etc.
The Rockbox software is not responsible for windows access, or?

Any HELP would be great.  :)

Thanks

It's a standard mass storage USB device.  no driver needed.

BTW, It helps to read the manual:  https://download.rockbox.org/release/3.15/rockbox-archosplayer-3.15.pdf

Dear Speachy,

thanks for your answer. I thought the same, but Windows 10 will not install the right driver, therefore I think I need a extra driver.

What is the error/warning that Windows is reporting?  (see the details of that mass storage device)

Does the jukebox boot up at all?

Not true for all Archos devices: see this post https://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,3912.msg30361.html#msg30361 From checking with Wikipedia the Jukebox 6000 is one of those USB 1.1 devices. Given the age of that device (and assuming that the driver doesn't exist in 64bit) I guess you're out of luck. Linux does ship a driver (ums-isd200), but for Windows 10 I guess you're out of luck (at least I haven't heard about a driver compatible with Win10.)

You could use a VM running Linux to tunnel access to the player ...
