Title: Thinking about installing Rockbox on iPod classic, some questions
Post by: pedrocevil4 on June 24, 2020, 08:37:08 AM
I saw a guide to dual-boot Rockbox and the Apple OS for the iPod classic. What are the benefits of Rockbox? I'm not too picky about audio quality, I'm happy with v0 or 320CBR, not looking to play FLAC. Can the two OS share the same library? I have the 160GB, 7th generation (I know 7th wasn't an official gen, but it's the newer 160GB, not the first one that came out.) Are there any awesome reasons to use Rockbox for the semi-casual user? I'm happy with the current OS but there are some quirks that bug me slightly (albums being listed multiple times in coverflow if album has more than one contributing artist, minor sorting things like that)

I really really don't want to risk bricking it, as I won't be able to get another since they're discontinued.

thanks everyone!
