dual boot in 5g ipod - only rockbox and original ipod OS - plz help?

i am not interested in ipod linux OS - only the rockbox OS and the original ipod OS only (i want to still play mpeg4 files - all my movies were converted to it)

is there a rockbox program to dual boot rockbox OS and Ipod OS

i think there is a wepage on rockbox.org for this i tryed to google or yahoo it, but i didnt find anything at all?

i went to rockbox wiki and typed in all possible word search strings below...

dual boot 5g ipod video (used combinations of these words to search)

found no article on this.....


I am well aware that many people have a triple boot system on their ipod below on

-Original ipod OS   - Rockbox    - Ipodlinux

i prefer not to do this only rockbox os and ipod os

Seriously, I told you the EXACT wiki page to go to. I didn't tell you to search, or anything else, just go to the IpodFAQ page.

The Rockbox Manual also explains how to do this.  Look in the section regarding turning the player on.

Seriously this is a default feature in Rockbox that is explained all over the place. The Manual or the Wiki go a long way with stuff like this like others have stated. I understand the the mods' insistence on pointing to manuals and such, since that is the first place users should go.

To be blunt however, just throw the hold switch to ON right after you start the boot process and you will be pleasantly surprised.

ok now i know the reason why i missed it is because i thought i would be a command line at bootup like "ipodlinux" has it.....

but rockbox does it by holding a button.
