How much space does mpeg2 video takes up per minute at 320X240 and 28 fps?

(1/2) > >>

greggh:
I know that at this resolution at 18 fps xvid takes up a little over 2 MB per minute. I'm assuming mpeg2 is going to be significantly more though. Thanks for any info.

soap:
Filesize is dependent upon one factor, and it's not the codec (XviD vs MPEG2), it's not the framerate, and it's not the resolution.
The only factor in filesize (per minute) is bitrate.

830 kbps then. I'm not good with math, so what does that translate to in MB/Min? Thanks.

greggh:
Alright, I tried to calculate it and got 5.94 MB/Min at 830kbps. Am I close?

saratoga:
830kbps is 103.75KB/s which is 6225 KB/min or 6.08MB/min.
