NASA wants it's Hubble Telescope back, borrowed to read Rockbox font.

Hello,

Just bought "brand new" F40 Toshiba (old inventory). Got Rockbox installed, but I need the Hubble Space Telescope to read the default font!

The men in black helicopters say they want their telescope back or they'll make Waco look like Tellytubbies compared to the razing they will do.

I looked at some of the font links - it's a MAZE of fonts and who knows how to install them?  Same with icons and themes.

Has anyone found a nice large font, glamorous icons, and life changing theme, all zipped up and ready for n00bies to install?

A bonus would be a link to the instructions, since the current directions are to the old included fonts.

Thinks!

The fonts package simply needs to be extracted to the root of your player, just like the build you installed.

RotAtoR:
The manual tell you how to install the fonts package (see the first note):

Nice Avatar Rotor :-)

I spent a few hours researching and am at the stage where I am to test some fnt files I found using the Win32 simulator.

I run the rockboxui.exe and hope it sees the fonts I have in the .rockbox/fonts directory.    rockboxui.exe shares the same directory with .rockbox and beneath .rockbox lives the /fonts dir.

But no luck getting the sim to browse the fonts.

In general the fonts dir should live under .rockbox right? And .rockbox lives on the root of the Gigabeat.

And on my PC, the simulator should be in the same directory as .rockbox...do I have it right?

Thinks!

First off, "fnt files I found" doesn't give me much confidence in them. The .fnt extension doesn't actually guarantee anything about their contents: If they're not designed for use with Rockbox, they aren't going to work.

And if your rockboxui.exe is in a folder, inside that same folder, you should have a folder named 'archos', in that one is '.rockbox' and in that one is 'fonts'
