Fixes what? There are currently no bugs in the button LED handling.

Button lights seem to function as expected but do not retain settings between turn on/turn off cycles .... correct?

(Turn off/turn on means via power button not battery on/off switch.)

Yes, but that's only because the option is in the debug menu, which doesn't save settings between power cycles.

Llorean:
The button lights still occasionally seem to conflict with the LCD backlight, so it's not ready to be moved out of debug yet, in my opinion.

Understood .... offering my help since I do have a gigabeat, f60. Can't program but can test. Also, $upported the project. Appreciate the efforts all the folks are making.
