New WPS -- "Rocker".  Its for those who have an inner musician  .  I tried to take a unique route for my WPS, hopefully it paid off

Cool, do I detect that your inspiration was HiPod dark? The only thing I'd complain about is the font is so small, but I suppose that's inline with HiPod. Maybe some minimalist icons or text to tell which line is which would be nice ( song, artist, album). I'm good with the whole alternating sublines, so I would make the playlist position scroll through some info like the time & date, battery time, sleep timer, playlist name etc. Maybe add a line saying what type of file is playing, or a next song dialog.
If you want the time into and time remaining on the same line as the progress bar, put them there in the WPS, and move the %pb tag to a different line. You can specify a y coordinate for the progess bar by doing this

%pb| height | left | right | ypos |

The %m tag is used to define a "margin". To use this tag for the wps you need to be using a patched build of rockbox that has the scrolling margins patch applied to it (which allows the use of the %m tag). While this is a viable option I wouldn't recommend the use of the %m tag on one line of your WPS, you would be cutting off a lot of users from using your WPS, many people like to be up to date with the current build rather than using the (slightly) outdated unsupported builds (granted, they are not that outdated, but any build older than the latest SVN commit is considered old).

Unless you are using an unsupported build to test your WPS, I'd say the %m tag is the cause of your iPod's unresponsiveness.

If you used instead:

%al               %pt %ac%pv %ar             -%pr

that may work, the spaces will be displayed first, then the time aligned left. Then the volume aligned centre, then the spaces, followed by time remaining aligned right.
(haven't tested this out mind you, so can't say if this will work)

I have a sansa myself, so I sure could try but the screen is much smaller.  I am not sure how well I could do it!

If you look at it, the screen is very much centered to begin with, your WPS is almost a "portrait" WPS to start, so porting to the sansa shouldn't be much of an obstacle.
