iAudio x5 60Gb and Database initialisation

(1/2) > >>

mmc19761:
I have loaded Rockbox onto my iAudio. The Database needs to be initialised. When I do this it climbs steadily through about 4900 files (4224 of which are music files, most of the rest being in the Rockbox folder) and then comes up with a blank screen with a message in the top left hand corner of the screen saying:

I04:IllInstr
at 000002A0

The type face is hard to read and the 0's could be o's and the I's either l's or 1's (or vice versa).

I have tried reinstalling Rockbox and the firmware, but no change.

Any clues what I am doing wrong?

ColdSphinx:
Do you have the current version of rockbox?
Because I've also an iax5 60gb and don't have that failure.

mmc19761:
Yes. Down loaded 'current build' yesterday. Tried the latest of the archived builds today. Same issue with both.

ColdSphinx:
Try r13102.The last days and currently I didn't have any critical error like that with the database and at the moment I can't reproduce it. If it doesn't work, try the latest build you used before the update (The one with which you hadn't had any critical errors). If that also doesn't work then I doen't know. :(

Thanks. Nothing I do sems to get it to work, have uninstalled Rockbox entirely, and reinstalled it. Now version r13153 20070414. No message now, just freezes. Once turned off and then back on, it tells me database needs initialisation again and so back to square one. I think I will give up on the idea and go back to the iAudio firmware.

Many thanks for your ideas though.

Regards
