iPod Video totally messed up - advice?

(1/4) > >>

Hello.  I updated rockbox last night after about two months of not having done so.

Now my ipod starts and gets to the main root directory.  But after that I cannot do anything.  If I try to scroll up or down, I get a white screen.  If I press menu, I get the menu but can't scroll or select.  And I cannot even hold down play to turn off the device.

Oh, and I ask again, can the developers stop turning off speech each time rockbox is updated? I know it's frustrating to have it on during development and testing, but at least turn it back on afterwards.  We don't always have people nearby to help us re-enable it.

How can I fix this, or should I just ipod restore and re-install it - which would be a real pain as I have nowhere to put my 30GB of music at the moment.

The developers do not "turn off speech each time rockbox is updated."  Speech is enabled by default.

Do you have the latest bootloader installed?

And btw, the build gets updated on every commit. There hasn't been any release for Ipods yet.

Hi, OK sorry about the speech comment, but it turns itself off when I update, but it did not do that before (I'm talking about Oct-Nov time) so I reached the first conclusion I could - I'm sorry.

Bootloader? NO, I'm using the original which I started with last September. I'll search the site and see what I can find.

ipodpatcher.exe is not a valid win32 application. I tried downloading it twice.

Any tips.
