iPod 5G Hardware Equalizer not staying "on" after reboot
« on: April 09, 2007, 12:21:25 PM »
Hey I'm new here so I wasn't sure whether or not to start a new thread on an existing topic I found.  In the previous thread http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=6271.0, it was stated that this issue was resolved; however, upon using this feature I don't think it has - at least not for me.  Just wanted some input.
Thanks

What build are you using?

Build version r12997-070402, or so it says on the version page.  So I assume a build from April 2nd.
Thanks

So why are you reporting a problem with a week old build without testing it on a current on?

Please:
1) test it with a current build instead of an outdated one.
2) If the problem is definitely there, after rebooting and finding your EQ to not be on, connect to a computer (without changing any settings), copy the config.cfg out of your .rockbox folder, and attach it to a post here.

I could not replicate using this problem using a current build.

I've also taken a look at the code and done some simulator testing and can't see how this could still be a problem. So like Llorean and Febs, I'd suggest you try a current build.

Did it again.  Config says enabled, my ears say different.  I cannot upload the file, I get a server error saying the "upload folder is full".  I'll paste it here.

Code: [Select]
# .cfg file created by rockbox r13091-070410 - http://www.rockbox.org

volume: -40
repeat: off
backlight filters first keypress: on
foreground color: FFFFFF
background color: 000000
show files: all
eq hardware enabled: on
eq hardware band 0 cutoff: 135Hz
eq hardware band 0 gain: 3
eq hardware band 1 gain: 4
eq hardware band 2 gain: 3
eq hardware band 3 gain: 5
eq hardware band 4 gain: 6
pause on headphone unplug: pause
font: /.rockbox/fonts/snap.fnt
wps: /.rockbox/wps/DockPod Aqua.wps
backdrop: /.rockbox/backdrops/DockPod Aqua.bmp
usb charging: on

Thanks again

Well the config file looks normal. Though you are aware that the middle three bands (i.e. band 1, 2, and 3) don't actually work?

I'll take a look at this again when I get a chance.

Yes, I am aware they are not functional.
Thanks for your time.

Well I can't figure this out. Everything seems fine in the code. Perhaps you should try to reset your settings and see if that sorts things out.

Well I think I've fixed it. Please try any build from r13106 onwards (i.e. anything built after, oh say now).
