Microphone volume on iAudio X5 [SOLVED]?
Bren_McGuire:
Hi,
I have the iAudio X5 60GB and I would like to know whether it is possible to change the microphone volume in Rockbox? At present, it seems awfully quiet compared to the "high" microphone volume setting of the original X5 firmware, but I see no option in the Recording Settings menu.
Thanks,
Bren McGuire
Febs:
The gain setting should control the microphone volume.
Bren_McGuire:
Are you referring to the graphical equaliser gain settings or something else? I found the graphical equaliser gain setting, enabled it and moved all 5 sliders to the far right, yet all it did was make the playback sound louder; did nothing to the recording volume.
Febs:
No, I am referring to the gain setting on the recording screen.
saratoga:
Gain would be an adjustment of an analog amplifier before the ADC in order to set the levels right.
EQ just adjusts the volume after you've recorded, which won't help you hear, since if your recording is bad, the result will be bad no matter what.
