Weird Database problem
« on: December 07, 2006, 06:14:13 PM »
Hello
So i have the following problems.
When I browse the files on my iaudio there are some albums missing (i can clearly see and listen to them in the "music" folder when i have the thing connected to the pc) but they just dont show in the database on the player, no matter how often i update. All the tags are correct so this couldnt be the reason.

Weirder is that i have files on my player which i already deleted out of the folder while i had the thing connected to the pc. So its not in the folder and the disk anymore, but i can still find it with the file browser on the iaudio and stil llisten to it (how makes that sense... i deleted it?!!)
So can anybody help me with that?

I already updated the whole thing, rebooted and pretty much everything but the problems stay.

Hmm if everything but the problem stays you'd be all set huh?

Anyways;
General settings - File view - Database - "export modifications" first.
Remove all databasefiles except database_changelog.txt and initialize database again wait a while for it to scan your drive, reboot - wait a while for it to commit and you should be all set.

With respect to the deleted files, empty the recycling bin while your player is connected to the PC.

A rockbox plugin?  Don't know.

But in Windows (and I'd assume in mac and linux) you can set the drive so that the recycle bin is disabled.
