Music management with rockbox & sansa e200

(1/2) > >>

funkadelik:
Hi, I was reading the manual for installation of  rockbox on a sansa (and successfully did it), but now I'm wondering if there's any way to easily manage your music files with it.

With just my normal sansa I use media monkey and MTP mode to sync my music.

When using rockbox however my sansa has to be in msc mode all the time? correct?
If not can I?:

1. Boot the sansa firmware
2. Switch to mtp mode
3. sync with media monkey
4. switch sansa back to msc mode
5. load rockbox & enjoy

Basicly. What's the best way to manage music files with rockbox on a sansa. I read some of the manual, but I don't understand what exactly are the restrictions on the usb mode.
Thanks (I...THINK. this is in the right section)

the only way to upload musics to your rockbox machine is using original firmware in sansa.. :P

Ok, but is it possible to boot the original firmware AND switch to mtp mode for syncing?

AlexP:
You can put your music anywhere on the disk you like using copy and paste or command line or whatever.  You can also use any syncing programs you like.  I don't know how the Sansa OF works, but for rockbox just copy it any old where.  For instance, I have (imaging f:\ is your player)

F:\.rockbox
F:\Music
F:\Spoken word

funkadelik:
..as far as I know you can't use any type of syncing without being in mtp mode.
I want to be able to sync music on my player with what I have on my pc.
Copy/paste isn't really syncing.
can anyone with rockbox and a sansa point out how they do this?
