rockbox errors
« on: April 07, 2007, 04:26:43 AM »
i have a 5g 30gb ipod with ipl bootloader 2.4 installed.i installed the bootloader almost half a year back.since then whenever i need to update rockbox i download the zip and unzip it to the root.recently i heard about the cop mod and tried senab's build which failed to work(the audio didn't play).now the past few builds for the video aren't working on my ipod with no audio or video at all.all the error reads is "codec failure".i really don't want to format my ipod or do anything that'll make me delete all the music in the apple os.

any ideas anyone?

ps:i'm using the latest daily build

update your bootloader. Loader2 2.4 doesn't work with current Rockbox builds (and this hab been asked over and over again -- a search would have revealed this to you).

Apart from that, Loader2 is unsupported. If you have problems with Rockbox always use the official Rockbox bootloader. We have a special thread about Loader2 (in the Unsupported Builds forums).

update the bootloader like you installed it (using ipodpatcher). The manual tells you how. Installing any parts of Rockbox won't harm your music collection. This has been said numerous times before and should easily be searchable.

The COP is utilized since quite a while now. We have a "changelog" link on the front page, why don't you just check things out yourself?

i'm using the latest daily build on my 30gb ipog 5g but there's no noticable improvement in processing speed  in any way.the videos and rockboy too run pretty slowly(the videos are waaaay slow)how come the COP isn't helping.

1) The coprocessor is utilized, but not finished. It doesn't yet work right for normal audio playback (so is actually disabled for that.)

2) It's working fine for Video. The iPod 5G just has a large screen, and the iPod processor is slow. The COP is helping, you just don't think it's helping because you have unreasonable expectations from video.
