If it's still under warranty, replace it. If not the your best bet would be to solder on a new headphone jack.

I bought it online from Amazon so I'm not sure if it's still under warranty or not...do you know a way I could find out? ???

And considering I'm just a teen i don't really know how to solder a new headphone jack on.  :(

I guess you should just call Toshiba and try to get them to RMA it.

It's an acronym, not sure of the exact meaning. But essentially it means a replacement from the manufacturer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_Merchandise_Authorization

I had yhe same problem on my iriver h300 and resoldered a broken solder joint a few days ago, it wasn't very dificult, I am not familiar with the insides of the gigabeat but it shouldn't be very hard to fix but if you have no experience swith soldering I would suggest getting someone else to do it. If it is not under warranty of course  ;)

from what I remember of the insides of the gigabeat, it's kinda hard to get to the  headphone jack because almost everything around the edges is covered with a thin sheet of steel.

well so far, my warranty expired and I can't seem to find anyone around here to solder it/ fix it. Is there any kind of quick fix I could preform? because now I have to  hold it like apply pressure to it for it to work, like if I let go of the headphone jack I will no longer be able to hear the music.

Well then open it up, see what's wrong. It's most likely a bad solder joint.

I opened it up and it looks like a bad solder joint...but seeing as how there is no way to fix it..well there probably is, but I can't fix it...I'm thinking about selling. I was wondering...if I were to sell my gigabeat as used f10 mp3 player with semi-functioning headphone jack sold as is, how much could I get for it? Considering that it has wear and a few light scratches on the screen and such.

How old is it? Another price for the battery use...

I've had it since Dec./January, and I bought it online used from amazon for $105...it was like brand new almost. I have all the accessories, but like I said, it does have some wear and there is some dust under the screen, but you can't really tell when the backlight is on. And there's the semi - functioning headphone jack...it works, but you have to press it down with your finger to hear sound, and even then it might come through one ear on your headphones.
