Sansae200: Skips and dropouts in Mp3s

(1/1)

rdg:
I have encoded some MP3s from a CD that I ripped using the following settings in lame:
  lame -V3 --vbr-new
The point is that they are variable bit rate MP3s with average bit rates typically around 145 Kbps.

When playing them with version  r13034-070405 of rock box, I get skips and drop outs. With the original firmware these play back with no noticeable skips. I tried changing the Anti-Skip Buffer to 30s. This seems to have no effect on the skips. Does this setting only make sense for hard drive based players. Is there a setting I can use to prevent the skips? Has anyone else experienced this when playing back MP3s on an e250?

The sansa port doesn't work very well at the moment.  You might want to read the other Sansa thread just below this one for more info.
