well it looks like an introduction is in order.
the .rockbox directory is your life. trust me. well it's everything to do with rockbox, if the name wasn't obvious enough. inside of it, the folders that relate to themes are the backdrops, fonts, themes, and wps's folders.
Some themes will give u the entire .rockbox with just the stuff needed for the theme, so you can extract that onto your ipod. but quite a few don't. But they will give the folders such as backdrops and fonts and wps and themes.
Well first you open a theme's .zip file. Inside of the big general folder there is a backdrops folder. either copy the whole backdrops folder into your .rockbox folder on the ipod, or drag the picture file(usually .bmp) inside of it into the backdrops folder of .rockbox
next is fonts. Sometimes it's there sometimes it's not. when it's not the creator expects you to have the font already. Download the font pack, which is here:
http://download.rockbox.org/daily/fonts/rockbox-fonts.zip (direct url)
if they do have a font, copy it into the rockbox folder in the same manner as backdrops.
Next is the themes folder, in which there is a .cfg file with the theme name on it. same procedure as backdrops and fonts. repetitive eh?
finally it changes. the WPS folder. Inside of this you have a theme.wps file, and another folder with the theme name in it, which stores the necessary pictures of that theme. copy the folder and the .wps file into the WPS folder. Same task, but you're doing it twice. and this time one of them is a folder
Excuse my english, I might not have been too clear about the explanation. It's a simple task of copying the contents of each of those folders into the .rockbox directory
