sound on Sansa e200

With my e270, I'd always heard the audible noise at the end of tracks with the original firmware. Rockbox cured that for me, but with this update to the audio, it's actually reappeared, but only when the first song loads. After that, I don't hear it any more.

I think the difference in the volume makes the headphone. I can hear the noise quiet but aggravating hearable while playing a song with display off (tick-tick-tick....) while loading data and during the lights are on (display or wheel or both). With the sansa FW i can only hear a little bit while loading songs. This phenomenon is autonomous from the volume. Rockbox team, please optimize this if possible. Thanks.

Yep, my tin ears and Koss PortaPros don't reveal this artifact to be audible at all. Hopefully, the devs have heard it already, however, in order to know where to look.

Hi again. Long break, but here are some new RMAA results using cpchan's build from 1th june. No more distortion and straight frequency response. Rockbox goes almost as loud as original, only about 5dB lower. Good job!

There is some high frequency noise, but it is present only when screen is on. The noise part was at the beginning of the test and thus screen was still on during it. Noise performance is otherwise similar to original firmware (you can ignore the -71.0dB RMAA printed).

I've noticed this using a very loud set of IEMs. At first I thought the radio was one low in the background since it had a pattern to it verses the normal white noise you get out of a DAC or amplifier. Still, barely perceptible even with my loudest pair, so I don't mind.
