I guess it's a bug. It once occured to me that turning the device on after RB hung itself up, the sound was just as good and loud as in der original fw. The frequency range appeared perfectly linear. But after the next reboot everything was back to normal again :'(
I hope our coders will figure out soon how to improve the sound

Here's an RMAA comparison of the original firmware and a week old build which includes patches 6908 and 6911. Today I've been testing some more with recent builds and can't get any other results on this particular unit (european e270).

Yesterday I used RMAA the first time and ... its not so easy to understand everyhing, but he. I hope that everybody is happy with sound volume now.

I'd guess something is wrong with the way you're testing.  Your results don't make much sense at all.  Can you also try a simple loopback of your testing system?  Also, post what you're using to do the tests.
