Rockbox Mods/Interfaces?!

ok, so this has NOTHING to do with loader2.




My thing is.. i have a 5G 30gig ipod with ROCKBOX ONLY (no iPL) and was wondering how i can make it to where when i play mp3's on rockbox, i can get a cool interface like this..

because all im getting is text for mp3 display

the themes i have on my rockbox dont look anything like the ones in the pic, they are barely 2d?

Some themes require patched builds of Rockbox, like the one in the pic.

But if you visit the WpsGallery in the wiki, you can find themes available there, and most that require modified builds should mention it. Since the themes have screenshots you can see how they should look in advance.

i have the latest build for 5g videopods.. if i do need a patched build, how would i know/where could i find it?

also, how do i apply the themes to rockbox after i get them?

If you need patches, the theme's description on the wiki page will tell you, like I said.

As for applying themes, you mostly just extract them. If the .zip is created properly, it'll contain the proper folders. You'll either get a .rockbox folder, which you copy over your existing one to add to it, or you'll get several folders (themes, wps, maybe fonts), in which you put all those folders in the .rockbox folder on your player.

And then just choose the theme under these menu items: Settings - Browse Themes.

the only problem is that when i go to play music, that interface shown in the picture doesnt show up, the backdrop is still there. any help?

Under that theme on the page you linked to, it says "Min Version: Senab build" - this means the theme won't work with an official build, and you need to click on "Senab build" to follow the link to download that build.

senab's build will be a replacement "rockbox.zip" - you need to extract that zip file over the top of the existing .rockbox directory on your ipod, replacing the files with the ones from senab's build.

where the F do i go to listen to my music?!

Please be aware of the fact that 3rd party builds are completely unsupported. If you have questions about a custom build ask the creator of that build, usually in the appropriate forum thread of that build.

In your case the build doesn't use the new menu system yet. In other words: it's outdated from the development perspective. Why don't you just pick a theme that runs on a standard build? Once you have gathered enough experience you can switch still.
