ipod battery life time

<< < (3/4) > >>

Toxikator:
Dan, IIRC (and that's not to say that I do), just letting rockbox play isn't going to consume comparatively much power... the backlight will shut down, and more importantly, there isn't much HD reading.

I could be way off the mark, but I seem to recall that rockbox power is consumed most heavily when building and changing playlists... while twelve hours is a very impressive number, I'm wondering what sort of life you get changing tracks and shuffling between albums and tracks?

Also I'm off to check what patches distinguish EvilG from Senab since I can't get 12 hours with it...  ;D

Oh, trust me...I pretty much USED the iPod the entire time. Like, I'm compulsive about NOT FINISHING SONGS, so I change songs like every 3 to 4 minutes. I'm a loser like that. But I'm using the first Fire build, i have a 30g iPod 5th Gen (Not 5.5), and I'm using the Windows Media Player 11 looking themes with album art.

Toxikator:
that's wild, man. I couldn't find any EvilG patches that would necessarily do that... sans of course the extra RAM, but that's for the 60GB only.  ???

Lucky you, jerk :P

Agreed, I don't code myself, so I wouldn't be able to increase battery life on the ipod. Not that I don't like the appreciation Dan, but I can't take credit for your increased battery life  ;).  I just apply the patches I want to the source, and because it doesn't take too much extra effort, I post my build. The fact that your battery seems to work nicer is complete coincidence.
Still glad youre enjoying my build though ;)

soap:
Being highly skeptical of 12 hours of life on your 30GB iPod, and highly skeptical that any of the patches used by EvilG could cause such a dramatic change, I'll eagerly await battery benches.
